Sales Associate [U.K]

Essential Job Functions
  • Understand FX products offered: spot, forwards, windows, and options. Be able to communicate with the client how the pricing is calculated. Know each product's advantages and disadvantages to the client. Understand forward points - how they are calculated and what they represent.
  • Understand FX pricing conventions and which currencies are quoted American terms vs. European terms.
  • Know how to ask for quotes and which trader(s) to engage when pricing spot and forward trades.
  • Understand FX credit facilities including how to request appropriate credit limits from internal credit officers to meet clients' needs and how to calculate FX Settlements and outstanding limits.
  • Learn the FX sales process, including calling prospective FX clients.
  • Be proficient on Lotus Notes. Be able to create and maintain client information, and RM information. Create call reports, exception memos and create/update itineraries.
  • Be proficient on Spectrum, including deal entry of all trade types, checking availability on FX credit lines, and creating reports of all types.
  • Be cognizant of who to contact for client/trade/payment problem resolution. Understand the role of each person in the Middle Office and FX Operations and know who to engage for each type of information needed or problem resolution.
  • Maintain current awareness of global market and economic conditions and be able to write about and discuss market conditions with clients.
  • Ultimately the individual will gain a level of Foreign Exchange sales expertise that can be leveraged in other areas of FX.
